Nobody Likes Plastic Roses              (2024 – ongoing)

In current times, the understanding and believing in the true nature of photographs may be deceptive since the viewer can perceive the image as manipulated, even though the real situation (indexical) is presented. The definition of a photograph that represents an ‘indexical’ link to its real object has somehow eroded along with the development and accessibility of digital manipulations.

The series plays around the concept of how reality is portrayed in the essence of photography and also its metaphorical form. The images presented here attempt to reverse this mindset of the audience and to question the representations of photographs using light, reflective materials, etc, to create images that may intuitively appear to be digitally manipulated.

In the age of AI, how can one truly appreciate the essence of reality in photography? The on-going series explores the extent of this representation in the photographic medium.
